Bridal Shower Bonanza

Okay, so there was a rumor going around that I got more stressed out planning and executing this bridal shower than I did for my own wedding.  It's true.  But that's what sisters do right?  My little sister is leaving the nest and we managed to pull off this little shindig for her.  We had tea cakes and socialized, opened presents and made feather headbands, which were a huge success might I add.  I think I was most happy how people actually got all dressed up (doesn't my grandmother look FABULOUS with the hat and the bag and the...*squeel*???)  P.S.  Props to my husband for having the idea to add a bee to my little birdie headband I made for her (and props to whomever gets the joke).

Mrs. Seal's Banner

She liked it, and so do I.  Nothing looks more legit than a vinyl banner.

Wild Blue Yonder

So this has been our first apartment which we will be leaving sometime in August and anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE our apartment.  When we signed the contract it looked like there had been 3 different unfinished paint jobs and the wood floors were in need of some love...but we saw the potential and somehow amid all the wedding craziness (with a LOT of help from Ben's brother and my little sister) we got all the holes filled in and pretty much the WHOLE place painted.  Then after we got back from the Honeymoon we set about designing...my favorite part!  Ben pretty much designed the kitchen and I took over the rest of the place.  I'm excited to design our next place but this has been quite a first apartment and definitely a place we were able to call home.  The story of the blue paint is thus:  when I was growing up, my Mom ONLY painted white walls.  I decided to go big or go home and we've been very happy.  It's a very happy blue.
