The Living Room

This is probably my favorite room and definitely the room that involved the most time/money.  The concept started with a small microscope that was Ben's mom's that now sits on the mantle.  I loved the idea of an Old Library/Traveler/Natural History museum sort of theme for a room and it worked with the already pre-existing conditions a la bay window, wood floors, tumbled stone mantlepiece and brick fireplace.  The center piece and central focus of the room is the distressed leather tufted chair and ottoman we found on Craigslist after much, much searching and waiting and then more waiting until the Lady would sell it to us for the price we would pay (which was much, much lower than what she had posted it for).  Not only is it beautiful and will last us for years to come, it is super comfortable.
